I appreciate the sentiment in this here but some of this implies physical separates gender which I just need to rant on for a moment is wrong.
Gender is also biological, it is just the biology of the brain formed in the womb this is why people take hormones to bring their sex back to the function in which the brain expects. Misinforming people by making this seem like a psychological issue is a slippery slope and once started it just cascades into a “treat them with therapy/they’re freaks” mentality which is frankly far too false to get through. Trans on a general whole is a biological one that falls into the same categories as intersex recounted research involving breaking open the brains of separate trans related cases and studying the brain function pre and post hormone of those who “identify” as the opposing gender.

I’d go into a speech about how I love how stupid transphobic people are considering the studies in actual biological research (which should be the serious one that should actually be put on focus but I digress) in relation to transgender people but then I realize that tumblr is made up mostly of 15 year old girls.
Either way people should probably be aware that while the zygote forms in the womb there is a specific time in which gender is assigned biologically to the brain. When this messes up they’re born intersex in which either parts of the body are wrong or, more specifically, the actual biological brain is different.
Despite what you might read on tumblr, the male and female brain, in terms of the physical organ, are in fact very different surprise surprise. Scientists went around and opened up a bunch of dead trans peoples heads open and what did they find? Yep, you guessed it, the wrong sexes brain! So before going around blabbing off shit like that as if you may just be among the wonderful phobic society next to anyone else who’s every been racist, homophobic, and so on, how about looking into actual facts and remembering that not everything your hopefully, for my sake, teenage mind is telling you as if god’s spoken truth.

As another white cis woman, just no. Like, are you really derailing a post talking about four murders of trans women of color to talk about how all of us are not horrible people? No. Don’t. I can’t believe you are making this about us. Well, actually I can, I’m well aware of all of the cissexism on tumblr and in general.
Do you really think defending the fact that cis people are douchebags is more important than the violence that trans women of color go through? Because it’s really fucking not. There were four trans women of color murdered in the last six weeks. FOUR. Did you read the post? Do you not care? Is it more important that trans* people recognize that oh poor us, we’re offended they think we’re bad people, when those four women ARE DEAD?
Trans* women of color face discrimination and violence on a daily basis. This is a post trying to get us to wake up and fix our societal problems. Racism, cissexism, and transmisogyny are a hell of a lot more important than trans* people being nice to us and reassuring us that we’re not all shitty. Especially when most of us are. You’re just proving that point.
Dear fellow cis people,
If you are offended by the original post, why? You can’t possibly believe that the OP’s message is that all cis people are murderers, because that’s just ridiculous. So what message is the OP trying to send to cis people? Wake up and pay attention. Now, okay, maybe you are a cis person who is aware of the violence faced by trans people and who actively campaigns to raise awareness. Maybe you’re upset with being lumped in with all the cis people who are completely happy to ignore hate crimes like this. But seriously, if you are one of the cis people who cares about raising awareness, why are you angry at a message that is trying to raise awareness? If you angry at someone for telling people they need to give a shit about violence against trans people, I don’t see how you can possibly claim to care about spreading that message. And as such, yes, you are a fucking douchebag.
I’m really torn in the harsh language and brick-walling arguments being used in this post, particularly as it just really gets no one anywhere and doesn’t really bring to light the real issue or what matters within this subject in any kind of way that can get people to do anything but be mad and pissed off at you. The reality of the situation is that trans people all over the world are persecuted; within the community there’s something known as the 50% rule within a statistic taken quite a while back and has unfortunately still quite a strong percentage by its side. This rule states that only 50 percent of trans people will live to the age of 25. Due to hate crime murder, suicide, and dying from conditions via being homeless/forced into prostitution. Just think about that for a second. 50 percent. If you know a trans person, and among the community, the odds they’ll still be alive by the age of thirty is basically a flip of a coin, to me, that is terrifying.
